Job Summary
The Logistics Officer will be the backbone of our fleet operations. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic route planning, vehicle and truck scheduling, and resource allocation. Your primary goal will be to maximize fleet utilization, reduce transit costs, and guarantee service efficiency, aligning daily logistics operations with Chengeto Holdings’ short- and long-term business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Route Planning & Optimization: Design, review, and optimize transit routes to minimize delivery times, fuel consumption, and wear-and-tear on fleet vehicles.
- Scheduling & Dispatching: Coordinate daily, weekly, and long-term schedules for our vehicles and trucks, ensuring all dispatch timelines and delivery windows are strictly met.
- Resource Utilization: Monitor fleet capacity and distribute workloads efficiently among drivers to maximize overall productivity and prevent vehicle downtime.
- Operational Efficiency: Continuous evaluation of logistical processes to identify bottlenecks and implement cost-effective, time-saving solutions.
- Communication & Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, fleet coordinators, and clients to provide real-time updates and resolve transit delays or issues promptly.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all routes, vehicles, and schedules comply with local transport regulations, weight limits, and company safety standards.
- Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of fuel usage, trip logs, and delivery metrics, providing regular reports to senior management to aid strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in logistics, fleet coordination, or route planning.
- Experience handling a diverse fleet of trucks and transport vehicles.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Fleet Management Software (FMS) and GPS tracking systems.
- Strong skills in MS Excel and Google Maps/routing tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills under pressure (e.g., handling breakdowns, traffic, or sudden schedule changes).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with local road networks, transport regulations, and border/customs procedures (if applicable).
