The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead and scale our operations in Bulawayo. This is a senior, high-impact role suited to a strategic thinker with proven commercial acumen and the ability to drive multi-sector growth. The successful candidate will serve as the primary growth engine for our Bulawayo branch, aligning local business activity with Chengeto Holdings’ long-term corporate vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy across all service areas within the Bulawayo region
- Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities in both public and private sector markets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, government agencies, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners
- Drive revenue growth, market penetration, and brand visibility across Bulawayo and surrounding areas
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with branch operational teams to ensure service quality, customer satisfaction, and seamless delivery
- Prepare and present detailed business performance reports, forecasts, and growth proposals to senior leadership
- Support investor attraction efforts by demonstrating financial performance, operational excellence, and ESG commitment at the branch level
- Champion community engagement initiatives and contribute to the company’s government relations and policy influence agenda
- Lead talent identification and contribute to human capital development within the branch
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field (a postgraduate qualification will be a distinct advantage)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, sales management, or a senior commercial role
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple service lines or operating within a diversified business environment
- Prior exposure to any of the following sectors is advantageous: environmental services, construction, equipment hire, agribusiness, mining, or renewable energy
Skills & Competencies
- Strong strategic planning and analytical capabilities
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Financially literate with the ability to interpret business performance data and develop compelling commercial proposals
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy
- Committed to environmental sustainability and aligned with ESG principles
- Proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and business reporting platforms
